ROLE
Poster Design
Indonesia is a country with the population of 250 millions. It's the 4th most populous in the world after China, India, and United States. But, in term of the number of athletes in Olympic Games, Indonesia is way too far behind.
In 2016, as a personal project, I created a tribute poster series titled "Good Luck, Team Indonesia" to honor Indonesian athletes competing in the Rio Olympics. This project was born out of my passion for sports, national pride, and appreciation for the dedication of our athletes on the world stage.
The posters were designed with a strong visual identity that reflected Indonesia’s national spirit in a clean and cohesive aesthetic:
(1) Color: red and white, reflecting Indonesia’s national pride.
(2) Illustration: simple, consistent, and focused on form and movement.
(3) Minimalism: bold, clean design emphasizing the competition's spirit.
The primary goal of this project was to celebrate the struggles and achievements of Indonesian athletes, recognizing their hard work and dedication. The tribute served as a morale booster and a visual representation of national support for the athletes.
This project reinforced my belief in the power of design to inspire and uplift. And the good news is...
Three medals won by olympians Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir (Gold, Badminton), Eko Yuli Irawan (Silver, Man 62 kg Weightlifting), and Sri Wahyuni Agustiani (Silver, Woman 48 kg Weightlifting).
